Birthday blogging

Was going to write about the team building day, but the day has been too long and now it's too late for that, will have to do it tomorrow. Today, although I've been out, I feel I've been quite isolated, mainly driving around in my car. I'm waiting to hear who went to the Zain concert and what it was like. Did Wyclef, Eve and the rest show up?

Anyhoo, without much to say I still felt I should write on my special day. After a rather busy day (emails, emails, emails, taking braids out and re-braiding hair), a delicious birthday dinner at Le Must in Cantonments, and now with Virgo snoring beside me, I am feeling more tired by the second!

So here I am, a year older, none the wiser, and without the one thing I wished for for my birthday...still no mangoes!!!

I completely missed this, Miss Maya. Glad you had a good one though. For what it's worth, a happy belated one: hope the euphoria lasts a while longer.

Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a good one and that all your wishes - including the one for mangoes - will come come to fruition. Ok, ok, bad birthday joke but couldn't resist.

By the way, any leads on mangoes are gratefully accepted. I've been all the way to Akosombo and back, but still no results...

I too hope my search will come to fruition soon (ha!).

... a delicious birthday dinner at Le Must ...

this phrase overpowers the sombre mood of this post, and confirms my take on the overal theme of your blog. you're tapping into Accra's feelgood factor ina way only you can!

hopefully, the post on teambuilding will still come (remember to send a copy each to a certain Mr. Gallas and Mr. Wenger. Gotcha!)

you promised me your lecture notes on team building ...

and just in case you thought i was going to forget, AGAIN, happy birthday though it's coming late.

Happy *Belated* Birthday! About the mangoes, sad to see you did not find any on the Akosombo road. But I think I did see the big type at the fruit stand as you turn right after Ghana International School heading towards the Akufo-Addo/Togo embassy roundabout..

Happy Birthday Maya! I read this post, and thought you might appreciate it since you are the quintessential xenophile!

Thank you Nana Yaw, remember lunch at Tribe last year, doesn't it feel like ages ago???

Of course Abena, why didn't I think of that place, I pass there everyday, it's not too far from home. Then again I stopped buying fruit there after I realised they were charging me more on days I looked fairer and more foreign. Grr, hate Obroni pricing! But I think it's time to lift the boycott!

Thanks for the tip and birthday wishes!

Thanks Sijui, what a superb post! I'd never heard of the expression 'third culture kids' and yet it completely sums me up. I think I'm definitely the type of xenophile who's loved her upbringing and background and hopes to make the most of it.

So glad you sent me the link, it really touched me, spot on!
